Differences in Girls and Boys ~ ~ ~

Dalton had to deliver a file to Augusta on Tuesday and we rode with him. We had a nice dinner at Red Robin Cafe ~ it is really good! ~ and then took the kids to Baskin Robbins. I have always compared my children jsut because they are so close in age. I have learned that you just can't compare apples and oranges...or boys and girls for that matter! For example, when I am cooking supper, MDD offers EVERY night to set the table, she gets things out of the fridge, wipes the counter, loads the dishwasher. These are not things I ASK her to do, she just does them. After dinner, she clears the table and helps put up leftovers. She really does this most everynight. I ask Jackson to help, but instead, he watches TV with his hand down his pants or up his nose. I guess the stereotypes of men and women are TRULY born in them. I can send them both in a dirt pile and MDD comes out clean...I am not sure how, but she will be spotless, Jackson will have dirt up his nose, in his ears and every other place you can imagine! MDD could dress and undress herself before Jackson was born, so she was younger than 17 months. Jackson still has issues dressing himself. MDD picks his clothes out for him and most mornings either dresses him or at least does his socks and shoes...I guess you could say that they are VERY much like each of their sexes ~ she is VERY girlie and mothers him and he is well....you know...

Anyway ~ I wanted to post a picture and example of my two OPPOSITE children...

Here is Mary Dalton enjoying her ice cream. Notice that it is almost all gone (and it was in a cone, that is my cup). Also, please notice how CLEAN her face is. You have NO CLUE what flavor she ordered, much less can you even tell that she has eaten a thing! Oh my CLEAN little lady! **Also note that she is wearing WHITE ~ a color Jackson can RUIN in about 5 seconds!

Can yall guess what flavor Jackson ate? Look at his shirt! Notice the napkins on the table, this was our THIRD round of napkins!
He literally had the ice cream UP his nose ~ he was so proud ~ he thought he had grown a "goatie" ~ He FOR SURE got our money's worth out of this ice cream! And as gross and nasty and dirty and smelly as he can be...I would have it NO other way! He is my heart! :)

So so funny! Amazing that MDD is such a good helper and clean little girl!! Abby seems to be more like Jackson, not caring about dirt on her! Although she's starting to say dirty and ask for wipes. Yours are both precious!
