Planning...

I have always been a BIG planner. I plan my lessons for school WEEKS in advance. I plan what we will eat each night. I plan what everyone will wear. I iron all clothes for church on Saturday night, have Bibles ready, tithes ready, shoes, bows, etc...all laid out. I unpack my car each day and re-pack the children's bags and backpacks (lunch and snack) as soon as I get home everyday. I planned my life with Dalton. I planned to have children. I plan one child's birthday party as soon as I put the trash in the trashcan from the other child's party. I plan what the kids will be for Halloween every year by July. For the longest time, I even planned when MDD and JDD would sleep. .I guess you could say that I am a but obessive about planning....

However, you would think that I would have figured out after 30 years of living and 2 children that plans are nice to think about and have, but they usually don't work. I planned to stay home with MDD. I can remember walking my fat pregnant butt up and down the neighborhood planning how we would spend the days when she was born shopping in Augusta and talking long walks and naps. Wrong ~ She hated the stroller, never slept and literally screamed the first 6 months of her life.

I planned to have my children 5 years apart. uhhh, wrong again. I was pregnant when Mary Dalton was SEVEN months old.

I planned how we would vacation at the beach and all sit and build sandcastles all day while Dalton's law firm payed for us to stay at the Ritz ~ Wrong. We were there 12 hours and MDD started throwing up and we left. oh yeah ~ and she hated the sand.

Most recently, I have been planning on how we will have a big cook out and invite our friends over for the first swim of the year. Too bad Jackson pushed Mary Dalton in today and all the "fun and suspense" of "opening the pool" for the first time was over.

It's really funny to me how much of a planner I am! I don't know why...I should know by now God has this thing under control and I am going to be just fine! And even funnier ~ the way HIS plans work out for me may not seem great at that time, but ALWAYS work out for the best!

But I still gotta add...Plan Ahead ~ It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark!:)

Sorry for my long rambling tonight!!!! :)

Thanks girl! What are you doing for his 3rd party? We did a circus for MDD's it was soo much fun! I think Jackson is going to have a pirate party when he turns 4...I just put it in their heads what we should do and they agree! Ha! My planning USUALLY works and it really does help with meltdowns and behavior!

I dread the day when he decides he wants SPIDERMAN or SUPERMAN and I can't do something fun. Somehow I must convince him to always go with my ideas!

I am between the circus idea and a dirt party. Have you ever seen the dirt party? Such a cool idea for a boy!!!
