Our Journey to Parenthood Blog

When I first began to blog, Dalton was gone a trip to Alaska and was gone for 15 days, which left me LOTS of time to "blog hop." One blog that I have read since then (almost a year) is Adrienne's blog at http://www.our-journey-to-parenthood.blogspot.com/ She had several miscarriages and was then diagnosed with the EXACT same genetic condition that I have ~ a mutation of a gene that is vital in pregnany, MTHFR. With this condition, you can GET pregnant, but have a really hard time staying pregnant. Ususally what happens, is a blood clot develops and kills the baby, or the mother. Needless to say, finding her blog after having 2 successful pregnancies and 2 healthy children (I also have a condition that effects my folic acid ~ I was told that Jackson would more than likely have spine defects or cleft pallet), I am reminded again how truly blessed Dalton and I are.

Since I have began reading, she has suffered from TWO failed adoptions. Each one was shortly after the baby was born. It is a heartbreaking story, yet through her strong faith and relationship with God, she and her husband stay positive and focused on God's plan....not their's. If you have time, please go over to their blog and read it when you have time. While the latest adoption was falling through, God was working out a plan for them ~ a baby girl, who they are calling "Lily Soo." They have several "sales" and offers from people to help them raise the money so they can travel to Korea to get their baby girl. Adrienne wrote on her blog that if everyone who read her blog gave one dollar, the expenses would be covered.

I do not personally know this family, but have emailed back and forth encouraging and praying for her ~ and sharing my story with her. If nothing else, God had used her to remind ME how fortunate Dalton and I truly are. Please read their blog ~ I am sure they would appreciate any donation, idea for fund raiser, etc. but most of all, please keep this precious family in your prayers....

I'm going to do an online tupperware fundraiser for her and send her all the commission and profit! We are working out the details now.
