My Baby Girl is ALMOST FIVE!!!

Tomorrow is Mary Dalton's 5th birthday. I cannot believe that 5 years has come and gone so quickly! She keeps asking me if I am sad that she is growing up. I try to explain to her that I am not at all sad! If she was not growing, she would not be healthy! I am not sure she "gets" this, but oh well! :)
This time 5 years ago, I was in labor with Mary Dalton. Tonight, I was looking for a test for school and found my journal to Mary Dalton. I started this journal the summer we decided that we were ready to have a baby and truly treasure all my thoughts during that time. This was the entry that I wrote when I found out that I was pregnant. It was so sweet to go back and read how excited I was! I truly had NO IDEA how much that little bundle of joy would change my life in so many ways!

It is official!! I am pregnant!!!! I went and got your daddy and we went to the hospital to have the test done. I was trying so hard not to get too excited. Alli, a girl that your daddy went to high school with, was the tech. She came and found us and said, “It’s positive! Congratulations!” I was (and still am!) in shock! As soon as we walked outside, I broke down into tears of joy! Aunt Tasha is thrilled and is helping me think of a neat way to tell Nana and Pawpaw. I am not sure how we are going to tell The Dowdy’s ~ ~ We’ve really got to “name” them! This is one of the happiest days in my life! All of the tears, heart breaks, and let downs made this whole journey well worth the wait! It has been my dream to be a mother since I was a little girl! I cannot wait to hold you in my arms and look into your precious face! You will always be my most special gift, because I know you were sent to me by God Himself!
I love you!!

And you know what? I am STILL just as excited to be Mary Dalton's mother! :) I thank God every day for allowing us the opportunity to share her with us!
SO ~ Happy ALMOST Birthday Mary Dalton!

We told them at Christmas. I gave Mama a calendar and told her I filled in everyone's birthdays for her, anniversaries, etc. She flipped through it and said thank you. I told her we would be celebrating big in Sept. to look at the calendar. On Sept 2 (which is my bday and was my due date with MD) I wrote BABY DOWDY DUE! :) She was VERY surprised! you know what is strange...Jackson was due on Dalton's bday! :)
