About two months ago we got Direct TV. The children LOVE channel 301 ~ which was Sprout, but I think just changed to Nick Jr. Anyway, they love the commercials better than the shows. This is where Jackson saw "Your Baby Can Read" and had the famous question, "WHY would you want your baby to read?" hmmmm...good question! I will be in the kitchen and they will come RUNNING as fast as they can screaming for me to come see what "new" toy or gadget is being advertised....and of course....they want it ALL ~ bendaroos, blendy pens, leapster 2, operation sponge bob, magnetic blocks, you name it...we have seen it and my children want it!
One thing that they REALLY want and even chose it as one of the three things that they can ask Santa for is a pillow pet. I was ordering them online today and casually called them over to see which animal they wanted. They were VERY excited because there is a huge selection online compared to the 8 they show on the 15 second commercial.
I told them to go play and I proceeded to order them while listening to them play. JD said, "I so hope we get pillow pets Sissy! It will be so much good times!" MD said, "I know Jackson, just one hug and your child or grandchild will fall in love forever!" :-) Looks like Pillow pets have a marketing genius on their hands!
