I cannot begin to tell you how much I LOVE my home ~ I like my couch, my bed, my dishes, my shower, my chair, my husband being home, my children playing here, etc. Gosh I sound like a 2 year old ~ but I like MY stuff. Rarely is there a day that I can truly enjoy my stuff....however, TODAY has been one of those days! It is cold and should start raining any minute, the perfect day to stay at home! :)
The kids and I have cooked all day and are still in our PJs! THAT makes me sooo happy! We have made sausage balls, M&Mk drop cookies, and old fashioned Christmas cookies that they cut out the cookie cutters and added LOTS of icing and sprinkles! IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL DAY! I love the smell of the house while the cookies are baking and candles are burning! I was HOPING to get to listen to some good Christmas music, but have been over ruled by a certain 5 yr old girl who insisted on Taylor Swift Christmas music ~ Which was fine the first 4 times, but after that C'mon!!!
They are all cuddled up now watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Days like this make me realize how blessed we are. I have food, a warm house, two children who are both healthy and happy and are truly best friends,a husband who adores me and thinks his children hung the moon, stars, sun, and every other item in the solar system, and family and friends galore! We are so blessed!!!
The only downfall of my day has been that I CANNOT find my Parkway Singing Christmas tree video ~ It just does not seem like Christmas until I hear the late Carolyn Roby and Kenny Jackson sing "Go Tell it on the Mountain!" I have searched high and low and it is no where to be found! :( I have watched this EVERY year since it took place and am very disappointed! :( It also has my mom singning "Heirlooms" which I love to hear. I would give anything to find it and am still looking...wish me luck!!!
This week, I had to buy the things for our Sunday School class for our Foster children we adopted to help during Christmas. I had MD & JD with me as I am trying my best to stretch every penny of our collections to get these 2 children everything that they needed plus a few toys. This was NO easy task with my own 2 children in tow! JD kept asking for a toy and MD YELLS at him, "Son, don't you know we are to shop for the needy!" At least she was listening! ;)
For those of you who know me well know that I cannot stand character clothing or light up shoes. Don't ask why ~ they are just NOT me! HOWEVER IF YOU LIKE THEM, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! WEAR THEM WITH PRIDE! JUST NOT MY STYLE...NOTHING PERSONAL! :) Of course, my children ASK for these but I don't buy them. (They do have some PJs with characters...I am not THAT mean!) Anyway, as we are shopping, I have the calcualtor out, adding up my items, Jackson keeps saying "PANTYHOSE! PANTYHOSE! PANTYHOSE!" over and over and laughing and I think that I am going to lose my mind, when Mary Dalton tugs on my arm and says ~
"I am a little confused..."
Me: "Why?"
MD:"Why are you buying all these hideous clothes? I mean, usually, you are like "no mam Mary Dalton no character clothes or light up shoes for you! But today mommy, you are filling the buggy slam up with the stuff!"
KIDS SAY THE DARNEST THINGS!!!!! ;-)
