Spring Break Wrap Up & Visit from Grandparents ~

We ended our spring break with a visit from my parents from MS. My daddy ALWAYS brings the kids ice cream when he comes. They were sooo excited ~ nevermind I had 3 gallons of ice cream in the freezer from my last round of PMS ~ Ice cream from pawpaw is 10x better! ;)

We did not do much while they were here, just enjoyed visiting! We took the kids to the park, spent a lot of time at the farm where MD attempted to jump rope...video to come....and they also found a small creek that they could play in! Our visits are always fun but go by way too fast! Mary Dalton had a REALLY REALLY hard time with my parents leaving. They always leave her a small gift that she can open the morning that they leave if she does not cry (we started this a while back when she had what I thought was a major meltdown...but compared to Sunday night, that was a mini!). Anyway, she was super over tired and she fell asleep around 7 and woke up at 8:30 and then tears started flowing...and flowing and flowing. We put her in our bed, held her, told her to cry unitl she felt better, let her watch TV, etc.
Let me just say that it was THE worst night EVER since she has been born. The long nights of colic and relux were a walk in the park compared to this! In the end, she was crying, I was crying, and I think Dalton would have cried too if it would have done any good!!! She is so sensitive yet so "in tune" to so many adult things! One of her little friens grandmother's passed away this past weekend and she thought that my parents were going to die because Alison's grandmother died. I felt so bad for her, but she had no way to communicate WHAT was going on in her head until Monday when we sat her down and she was calm enough to talk about it. IT WAS AWFUL. I felt like the worst mother EVER. I still do. We did decide that from now on, when my parents are here, that we will still follow their normal schedule ~ everyone has to sleep in their own bed, go to bed at 8, etc. Hopefully this will help the tranistion when they leave.

Anywhoo ~ Here a few pics from our fun weekend...it really was fun...other than Sunday night! ;)
