Sticks and Stones May Break Your Bones ~

But so can falling off a slide! Yesterday, around 2:20, I sent a student out to the K3 building to get Jackson. As she was walking out the door, his teacher brought him in. She was carrying him and you could tell that he had been crying. She said that he was sitting on top of the slide/jungle gym (which is TWO feet off the ground) and he just just fell off and landed on his arm/wrist. Jackson has a VERY high pain tolerance and I knew something was wrong. He would not turn his wrist and I decided to get it X rayed. I called Dalton and he met me at the hospital in Jefferson County. Suz came and got Mary Dalton from the school and then later Gigi and Sallie Ann got her ~ Thanks yall! :)

And as luck would have it ~ I had my camera! ;) Here he is getting the first x rays ~ he was sooo brave! It hurt, but he cried just a little!

He was NOT feeling so hot here ~ Poor baby! :(
While we were waiting for the Dr to let us know if we were going to need to go to Augusta, Miss Roxanne came to check on her buddy! What a sweet teacher! She feels so bad and I have told her that she watches him WAY better than I do! As rough as Jackson is ~ this was bound to happen!

They told us in Jefferson County that it was broken and we had to go to MCG in Augusta. This is a great hospital, but an eye opening experience! You can see ALL sorts of things here and let's just say that there is NO WAY I could work there! ;) At one point, we had to SHARE a room!!! I don't "do" community things ~ bathrooms, showers, HOSPITAL rooms, so needless to say ~ I was FREAKING out!!!
This pic was after they redid the x rays ~ they were concerned his elbow was broken, but thankfully it was not. The x rays here did NOT go so well ~ this was the only time he really cried and it BROKE my heart! :( I could not stand with him while they x rayed him, but the girl who did it was so sweet to him! You can see his little red eyes from crying! :(

We had to wait FOUR hours for them to read the x ray and he could not eat because we were not sure if they would have to put him to sleep. Needless to say, he was sooo hungry and thristy! He was so good about not complaining, he just watched his movie and kept asking when we could leave!

And then came the iv ~ "straw" as they called it. I was about to die! He did SOOOO good! He cried a little, but not much at all and got a REALLY cool toy from the nurse from Bass Pro which made it feel all better! Once the iv was in, he got morphine and that kept him comfortable!

We finally got home around 10:30 and he went right to sleep. He had a few rough episodes during the night, but seems to be doing better today! He is going to have a hard time not running, playing outside, riding his bike, etc. He HATES the sling because it is heavy, but hopefully he will get used to it! We go to see an orthopediac next Wednesday, but we are trying to get in sooner.

and here is today! Preicous baby boy who RAELLY needs to haircut! ;) They gave him some meds for pain so we will use those today if needed. I will post more when we have more news! Thanks for your prayers!
