Well ~ I woke up with either pink eye or some allergy funk in my eye. All I know is that it hurts and I can't wear my contacts...so I won't be able see today! I need new glasses, but just can't see spending money on something I don't wear but for about 10 mins before bed. All this to say, I will not be going to church today but hopefully treating this funk with some of MD's old drops!
We went to the SWEETEST wedding yesterday! One of Dalton's fraternity brother's got married. He was in our wedding when we got married. Bless his heart, he was a nervous wreck! His wife was precious and I hope that they are as happy as Dalton and I are!
When we got home, I felt like I was entering a BAD episode of Hoarders (have yall seen that show....OH MY WORD!). THE TOY ROOM. MD & JD had "decided" that they did want to help me clean. I think that they knew something was up when I said, "OK." I had made up my mind that if they did not help me (and do a good job) that the toy room was going to be cleaned perfectly by me....and then locked. They must have smelled blood in the water, bc they BOTH were MORE than willing to help! They are so proud when it is all clean, they are playing up there now. The bits of paper, fishing bait, rocks, sticks, stickers, etc. were overtaking the room! NO JOKE ~ it was horrible! Even Dalton commented how bad it was!
Speaking of the kiddos ~ they are REALLY into wrapping up random things around the house and giving them to us as gifts. I know it sounds really sweet, but whatever they "give" us, they want us to use or display....I don't think I will look so hot in the tutu and plastic earrings I got yesterday. They want wrapping paper and tape constantly....which equals a mess, but it keeps them quiet....
They are also into PAPER and this takes on a how category of its own. They make books and drawings and even write stories. This sounds great and educational and I DO like this better than the great gift exchange, BUT! They wrap the books. Can you tell I am getting a little edgey about ALL the wrapping??? The Dowdy children use at LEAST one tree a day in paper products!
Dalton killed a deer and a bobcat yesterday morning and we were at the farm so JD got to help him track it....and yours truly got to help him drag it out and load it. Let's just say, God knew what he was doing when he did not make me an Indian....my teepee would starve! JDD was SO SO SO excited, moreso about the bobcat than the deer!
We are out of school on Monday ~ YEAH!!!! The fair is in town this week and it is rinky-dink, but we look forward to it every year. It's also homecoming week at our school ~ I DREAD this week! you should try to teach high schoolers while they are dressed up in the craziest costumes you can imagine! I am thankful it's a 4 day week though!
We have plans to meet up with some friends in Augusta tomorrow and do something fun with the kids! MD is planning to spend her Justice gift card ~ it is burning a hole in her pocket...hmmmm....wonder where she gets that?!?! ;) I bought all her things to start on her "Star of the Week" board. It was so much fun to look through all the pics of when she was a baby! My friend, Michelle, is helping me with her board, so I am sure it will be extra cute since she is "in charge!" ha!
Enjoy your day!
