The Biltmore

Last weekend, we took a trip to The Biltmore! We had planned to go to Mexico, but decided this was not the best time to take the kids there, so we had to pot for something else! This was close to home ~ we could not risk a flight delay due to Dalton's court schedule, so The Biltmore it was! :)
We started our trip on Friday with shopping at the outlets ~ anytime a trip starts with shopping it's a good one! :) We stayed in the neatest little area called Bilmore Park...super safe, too!
So in true Dowdy fashion, we gave the kids our debit card and set them free...I swear it was safe! ;) They had pizza, went to the bookstore, had ice cream and then went to see a movie ~ while Dalton and I had a date night! :) win, win!

Poor Jax woke up sick about 4 Saturday morning ~ more than likely from all the crap they ate...but thankfully he slept in and was good to go the next day! :)
MD and I shopped around the village and the boys ventured out to the downtown area. HIGH on Jax's list was eating rolled ice cream ~ his sweet daddy found a place and hooked him up!
They met us for a late lunch and then Dalton watched the game and we went to see Wonder ~ HOLY COW! Best movie ever!!!
This girl ~ I mean...that dimple....she's a handful, but she's my handful! :)
After the movie, the kids hit the pool!
And tried out a shower cap or two...
They ordered room service and watched TV while Dalton & I had dinner in the lobby ~ it was delicious! We were both pleasantly surprised!
Sunday morning, we met my nephew Zack for breakfast ~ I actually met Dalton on the day Zack was born! :) We enjoyed seeing him and catching up with him!
We bundled up and headed to The Biltmore ~ it was FREEZING!!!
The sheer size of this house is unbelievable!!! The interior was beautioful, but my kids have toured most all the historic homes in Natchez, so they have seen that sort of thing before...not to mention, Dalton's mom's house looks like The Biltmore. ;)
My people ~ they can drive me to brink of insanity but I love them with every ounce of my being!
This was my favorite room! All the trees/greenery are real ~ They replace them every 3 days...can you IMAGINE how long that takes?!?!
Loved this area, too!
Selfies while in line touring! The whole tour took about an hour and a half ~ you don't tour the whole house...just parts.
Our favorite part was the basement ~ how cool is this?!?
Jackson LOVED the bowling alley!
The indoor pool was pretty impressive, too!!!
Of course, Dalton loved the man cave area!
The grounds were just as pretty as the house! We walked around and then went to Antler Hill and toured the winery. We had an amazing lunch there and then headed home! Such a fun trip and a great way to start our Christmas season!!!
