St Patrick’s Day at Shellman Bluff

Friday after school, we loaded up and headed to the coast! We have missed the St. Patrick’s Day celebration for the past few years due to Mary Dalton‘s dance competitions. I promised her early this fall that we would not miss this year! Whitney Sue  went with Mary Dalton, and Blake went with Jackson. We were loaded up and ready to go!!!

As soon as we got there the boys headed to the water… No shocker they are they were dying to get in! Unfortunately it was a beautiful day but really chilly!

Friday night, we went and hired the bands and also ride a few rides at the festival. We were up Saturday morning early ready for the parade! Whitney has been with us before so she knew what fun was ahead of her… These girls were pumped!!!

It’s honestly the biggest redneck event in the world… And nothing to write home about. However, it’s so family-friendly and so much fun! Everyone there is always very nice and we just love being there!

There are a good many Shriners that participate! I always love their costumes!!!

Taking four teenagers off for the weekend was a breeze! These kids were great! They had the best time and were so well behaved!
I’ve always felt guilty that Mary Dalton👯❤️ doesn’t have a sister. My sister and I are so close even though she is 10 years older. Whitney is the next best thing to a sister! These two are thick as theives! I absolutely adore these girls!!

As soon as the parade was over we snagged a table at hunters Café. Of course the kids had to add a dollar to the wall.

Saturday was absolutely beautiful and the boys wanted to fish and the girls laid out on the dock. I straightened up at the house and did some laundry while they were out.

Whitney caught a fish and the boys cleaned it for and then they attempted to cook it… I don’t think it was very good but they had a blast!

Late Saturday night we rode over to the bluff to hear some bands and hang out. They had a great time walking up and down the bluff... I read while they walked around and then we headed back for bed!

We slept in Sunday but stopped at The Littles Church in America on our way home.

Blake  actually read a scripture and we sang Amazing  Grace. We said a prayer and then we left. So we had our own church service. ;)

It was such a fun weekend and so many memories were made! I try to enjoy every second of times like this because I know they are quickly coming to an end! These kids will be grown and gone before I know it!

Dalton stayed behind and enjoyed the weekend with his college friend turkey hunting. I’m so thankful we are able to do things like this with our kids and enjoy our time together!
