I don’t even know where to start… How in the world has it been 16 years since I first saw this sweet little face? Time has flown by and I feel like we’re on a countdown until she’s on her own. It’s such a weird feeling because it makes me so incredibly proud of who she is, but so hard to let go.
If I have to be honest I have a feeling that I will be spending a lot more time in prayer with her driving. I have prayed all over that RAV4! I’m so excited for her to get some freedom, make memories, and watch her bloom..But it’s so strange thinking she won’t be in the car with me much anymore.
Being her mama has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have ever done. She definitely was not an “easy”baby, but she has made up for that for sure! I never have to check behind her. She’s so mature and handle life with such class and ease. One of the things I most admire about my girl is how open minded she is. She is so nonjudgmental and truly sees the good in everyone. I think most people believe that she “has it made.” If I’m being honest, she catches a lot of heat from people for many things.… Most out of her control. She never lets that slow her down though.... She doesn’t play into criticism or drama. She amazes me with her confidence, her ability to laugh at herself, and how forgiving she is. This one right here has a heart of gold.
Mary Dalton, I hope you have the best birthday week ever! You continue to amaze me every day. I pray that you will always be true to yourself, go with your gut instinct, be honest, have fun in all that you do, and make the most of everyday! You are the only person that can control your happiness and I hope you never overlook the many blessings that God has given you.
Most importantly, I hope that you always keep God first and seek his truth and all that you do.
You have taught me so much my sweet girl. So much about life, letting go, and myself. I’m forever grateful that God chose me to be your mom. I hope you have a happy 16th birthday and I can’t wait to celebrate you this weekend!
