We had the best Fourth of July with Elizabeth and Nathan!! We grilled, ride the mule, swam and they even squeezed in a baseball game! I love having a house for my kids and their friends. Elizabeth and Nathan are technically adults… But they are still kids. We enjoyed having them so much! We laughed all weekend!!!
On Saturday night they went to the green jackets game . There was a concert before the game, then the game, then fireworks. I had a great time!
On Monday Elizabeth and Nathan headed home and Jackson rode back with them. Mary Dalton and I went to Birmingham and did some shopping and stayed with Tasha. We woke up Tuesday morning to pick Jackson up and head to see Aunt Winnie.
Aunt Winnie is 92 years old. She just finished cutting her grass and using the weedeater when we got there. She could also pick up yellow bucket of blueberries. I cherish the time I get to see her and spend with her. I never know my name and this is a close second. We also got to see the kids great great uncle Sharod.
I took this picture of a picture… That’s my sweet nanny in the pink. She went to heaven when I was 11, it’s been 32 years since I’ve seen her. I know that she would be so proud of her children and her grandkids...and great grands! I miss her so! My popa, too! Those two were the best!
Jackson snapped this picture as we were leaving and it made my day. She always stands on the porch and waved as we leave. She doesn’t go inside until she can no longer see your car. When we arrive, she’s usually waiting on the porch. She had homemade blueberry muffins waiting on this when I walked in the door and one of her perfect pitchers of sweet tea. This lady is a gem. I absolutely adore her.
Our next stop was a mattress for lunch… We went to the Fish House and got their famous popcorn shrimp. They did not disappoint!
Somehow these got out of order… But after we had dinner in Birmingham we went on a walk around Tasha‘s neighborhood to see the new area. She bought a beautiful house that has so much character and so much rain! She has a beautiful lot and we enjoyed getting to see everything.
Even Chloe walked with us!
Wednesday morning we had a full day and Natchez. We shop downtown and made a stop by the Catholic Church park.
We had lunch at one of our favorite places!
We rode through the neighborhoods we lived in while growing up and by the schools we attended. I am sure the kids were bored out of their mind, but they were super sweet and at least acted interested. 😉
Nana was attempting to do one of Mary Dalton‘s famous poses… My sweet mama is such a good time. We drag her all over the place and she just goes with it and has the best attitude. I would put her up against anybody’s mom. She’s the best!
Nana and her youngest grands. They love her so!!!
We got back late Thursday night and we were at the eye doctor on Friday morning by 930. Both of the kids had a exams… And both of the kids need to glasses. We got everything ordered and I’m going to pick it up next week!
Alicia posted this picture on Facebook and I copied it. It has been years… And I need years… Since my entire family was together. And technically we really aren’t together in this because Mary Dalton was at a concert. But I’ll take it. We have some dick personalities in this picture and every single person Pictured is hilarious. We laughed hard this particular weekend. I’m so blessed and thankful for each one of these family members.
Dalton has friends in town this weekend at the cabin. Mary Dalton left to go to Daytona beach with Cameron’s family. Jackson is working this week and getting ready for his New York trip. He leaves next Sunday. I am starting to do lists of things that I need to accomplish before I go back to work. I’m also taking lots of time to enjoy summer things… Like tomato sandwiches and pretty flowers
I saw this post on Facebook and I felt like it was screaming my name. I love to plan stuff but as I get older I’m trying to be more laid-back and not so Type A!
July has gotten off to a great start… But it will be winding up before I know it. I’m going to make the most of it!!!!
