My Baby is 17

How in the world did we go from this…

To this….

My sweet baby turned 17 today. Dalton and I prayed from the time we were married that the Lord would send us children when the time is right. Never in my wildest dreams that I think I would have two babies 17 months apart but the Lord knew exactly what he was doing. He not only gave me the most precious son, but he gave Mary Dalton a best friend. 

Jackson is wise beyond his years. I have taught school for 20 years and he is one of the brightest students I have ever had. He is inquisitive, loves the challenge, and truly wants to understand everything there is to know.

He is incredibly funny and loves to play a prank. He is a good time!


We are just so proud of him and are so thankful that he is ours.

He has never once told me that he is bored. He can always find something to occupy his time. He loves fine dining and traveling. He would eat out and stay on a trip if his budget allowed it! I love his passion for traveling and experiencing new things. 


He has brought so much joy into our family and this boy has my heart. He also has my back, I can always count on him to help me with any issue that I have. He is going to make someone an outstanding husband one day.


So here’s to year 17, Bud. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you, keep you safe, and direct your every decision. I pray that you always know that you are so loved and treasured by so many people.
