Ohhhh Venice. This was the port I was most excited about! We got an email 2 days before our cruise that we would not be docking in Venice because of the size of our boat. They routed us to Trieste instead. NCL offered a free transfer by bus to Venice for anyone who still wanted to go. The ride was 2.5 hours ONE WAY but we all 4 wanted to see it and the girls were dying to go to the Golden Goose flagship store, we we bit the bullet and did it.
It was beautiful but VERY hard to navigate! It was super hot, crowded and the people were not overly nice.
We had to take a water taxi to get to GG and MD started feeling sea sick. I had a patch and was fine, but she was green. We finally made it to the store!!!
The shopping was good, but again…hard to navigate.
We only had about 3 hours there…our day was spent traveling to and from the ports. On the way back to catch teh bus, MD got sick AGAIN! She was down bad. Sweating, green, shaking…she took off her shirt and I stuck my patch on her! We FINALLY made it back to land! We are glad we saw Venice, but neither of us care to ever go back!
We made it back to the boat just in time to shower and grab some dinner before turning in for a early night! They are 6 hours ahead of us and we were all worn out!
