Our trip to ATL was finished up by a very exciting trip to the American Girl Store. Mary Dalton was VERY excited about this stop! She has just gotten into this and looks at the catalogs 4 or 5 times a day ~ she even "dog ears" the pages she likes and circles what she wants! ha! Jackson was NOT excited about this stop ~ He even got a spanking in the store for telling his Daddy to hush ~ bad idea. He went on to say that the reason he told him to hush was because, "yall making me 'wook at dumb ole girl stuff and I don't wike it." As much as he hated it, she loved it! The store was jammed packed and there was about a 2 hour wait for a table...good thing Mary Dalton's mommy made reservations TWO months ago! (Side note: I am not sure, but getting a good time/seat at this place is much like at Disney, the earlier, the better!) Oh yeah ~ and there is NO RECESSION at American Girl ~ Mommies and Daddies were dropping money left and right on this beautiful, but EXPENSIVE dolls and all their gear to please their precious babies! AND ~ We were there on a Sunday around 11 ~
We had already told MD she could not have a doll. We have Bitty and she asked for Kit for bday, which is in 2 weeks. We let her chose an outfit instead. After a LONG LONG LONG time of looking, she went with Bitty's backpack which had accessories in it ~ WAY more than we wanted to spend, but at this point, we just want to leave! ha! She was pleased as punch with her purchase and has played with it all week!
The Bistro was too cute ~ they give each doll a booster seat at the table, their own menu, and even their own plate with food. Miss Priss was VERY impressed! Jackson took his bear....he never even acknowledged the poor bear...MD was wiping Bitty's mouth and talking to her....JD just pulled the Bear's plate in front of him and ate his food. ;-)
The food was delicious and reasonably priced (UNlike Disney). I would eat there again! :)
Pictures are coming ~ but blogger is acting crazy and won't accept them?? I wanted to get this post done bc tomorrow is our Open House, then back to school....
I have preplanning on Monday and the kids start Tuesday ~ As much as I am dreading getting up at the crack of dawn, I am ready to be back on a schedule and back to some normal routines around here!
Better run! Lots to do and it is getting late!
