Let me just say that today has been quite a day! This morning while getting ready to leave the cabin, Jackson locks himself in the bathroom. Of course, Dalton has no ordinary lock...oh no. We have a lock that locks by sliding an antler into a little "groove." I do not have good cell phone service at the cabin, so I walked outside to take a call, and when I came in, I heard death screams and realized JD was locked in the bathroom. After 3 or 4 minutes, he calmed down and I tried to help him understand how to slide the lock open. I was sticking my hands under the door and sliding my fingers to show him how to work the lock. Each attempt caused more tears as he was realizing he was not getting out. After a good 15 20 minutes, I called Dalton. He was walking into a closing and said he would be there when he was done...which was going to be AT LEAST one hour...probably longer. I then called Big Daddy who said he could be there quicker. During all of this time, Mary Dalton is sliding goldfish...one by one...under the door to JD so would not " starve and die" while he waited. I would have to walk outside to give Dalton updates and when I would walk back in MD would say, "I am keeping him entertained. He doesn't cry if he is entertained." FOR ONCE this week she was being helpful (she is still on Suz and Sue-anna detox and NOT being a very good girl). Since MD was keeping him "entertained" I decided to call Nana and let her in on a good laugh! She thought up the idea that he may not be tall enough to actually "see" how the lock works and suggested he stand on towels. He could not reach the towels, but I had a case of cokes. I told him to move the case of cokes and stand on it. I pulled the door to me and FINALLY after almost 40 minutes he got himself out! His little face was beet red from crying and his shirt was wet with tears and sweat...poor guy! Anyway, I remembered my camera had a video too and recorded this right before his great escape! Notice the cokes in the bathroom...sorry it is so blurry...I was trying to pull on the door, too! Oh yeah ~ and you can see MD laying on the floor trying to see him through the crack! ha!
