I have not posted all my funnies from Mary Dalton & Jackson lately so here they are! Hope they make you smile ~ I did! :)
MD: "OK Mama, get ready to crack! I've got something funny to tell you!"
JD was playing outside and DDD noticed he had something in his mouth and was spitting. He called out to him and asked what was in his mouth. "Chewing tobacco. I just get some leaves, chew 'em and spit." GREAT! Thanks Pawpaw ~ we are so proud you taught our son this! ;)
MD: (after I woke her up for school and informed her we were in a hurry AGAIN!) I said, "C'mon Mary D! PLEASE help Mommy this morning. We gotta roll outta here in 15 mins and I still have to get JD up and dressed." She replies, "I've had enough rolling for awhile."
MD & I came in from her dance pics on Sunday and DDD asked where we went afterwards (we were late getting in) she said, "Save money, live better. Wal-Mart."
We were in Lowe's a few weeks back and we had been talking a LOT about Easter, God, etc. Jackson wanted to know why he could not hear God. I tried to explain to him that God talks to him, but he has to be quiet and listen. I went on to say that God uses examples and people to talk to us sometimes too. He was still VERY confused and wanted to know more. I tried to answer as best as I could for a 4 year old. Anyway ~ we were in Lowe's and a LOUD DEEP voice came over the loud speaker and said, "David. Please come to the front of the store." Jackson stopped DEAD in his tracks and said, "MAMA!!! I HEAR GOD!" MD looked at him like he was insane and said, "Hello Jax! That is NOT God, that is called store language!" ;)
It was warm enough to swim last week and JD wanted to know if he was dog paddling. I told him yes and that he needed to stretch his body out more and was trying to demonstrate from the chair (WAY too cold for me to get in!). He was really trying and he said, "Hey Mama! I think I am people paddling now!"
MD's teacher told me that when she got to school the morning I told her we had to "roll" ~that she asked if she could go to the bathroom. She told her to go but hurry back for calendar. MD said, "Well, my mama was making late and I did not have time to put on my accessories this morning!" Tara said she came back all decked out with stick on earrings and bracelets!
When Susan, Dalton's mom, was helping MD the other day with her famous flips, she told her to chuck up on the chain. MD looked at her and said, " I have no clue what "chuck up" means ~ HOWEVER, when she said this, she did fingers in a quote motion around chuck up!!! I told Suz ~ She just got quoted by a 5 year old!!!
Any my personal favorite ~ We were at the farm last weekend and Jackson pulled a tooth from an old deer skull that Dalton found. He was sooo proud! He said, "I pulled a tooth. Will the tooth fairy come?" I said, "No you did not, show me." He proceeds to show me this HUGE tooth and I then realize that it is a deer tooth. He was pretty bummed but decided to try and trick the fairy. I told him she was NOT coming ~ MD is about to break her! ;) He said he was still going to try. MD hears all of this. After bath, she lets him use her toothfairy box and he puts the nasty, brown tooth in her dainty little box. He left the room and she told me that she had a dollar and she wanted to put it under his pillow so he would think that the tooth fairy came ~ pretty smart girl! I told her that was fine, but it HAD to be a secret and that he would get to keep her dollar. She was A.O.K. with it. While he was in the bathroom, we slip the money under his pillow. He was sleeping in my room bc Dalton was out of town and he fell asleep while watching TV. He woke up about 9 and looked and found his dollar and was soooo excited! MD was BEAMING and so proud that she had made him so happy! He immediately got back on his pallet and said, "Dear God, thank you for letting me trick the toothfairy. Now, I am going back to sleep. Tell her I need some coins, too!" SO ~ Sweet MD cleaned out Dalton's night stand and hooked him up again! ;) She is a good big sister!!!
