Fun Filled Weekend with our MS Family ~

Our last 4 days have been soooo much fun! We woke up this morning, and everyone had headed back to MS and left me with two broken hearted children! :( We have tried EVERY way possible to make it easier on them, but nothing seems to work. I can't begin to express how horrible and sad it makes me feel to see the 2 of them so upset that their Nana has gone. I try to talk about all the fun things we did, when we will see her again, she even leaves a "go" present for them to open, but it never fails, the tears flow and flow....and I usually end up joining them! MD asked me if she could just wear PJ's all day because "her heart was so sad." :( My house is SOOOO quiet ~ I miss the children so much and wish they were already back! I have decided that when Dalton and I are grandparents, I want to move to the farm and build a "Dowdy Compound" and we can all live happily ever after! ;) Hey ~ a girl can dream! ;)

ANYWAY ~ although we are very sad, but had a GREAT time visiting! My nieces and nephews are 14, almost 13, and 11 and are SO sweet to my two! They really all get along so well and play together if you can believe that! My sister, my mama and I laughed so much last night that I am physically sore today! They are both too funny!

Now for our weekend in pictures! :)
Dalton came home for a quick second on Thursday before Miss Cathy came to babysit so I could go to the dr! Can you tell that she ADORES her Daddy???
Miss Cathy arrives! They love her so much, she is really like another "Nana" to them and helps me with them so much! She is the principal at our school, but we team-taught together several years ago. I had a Dr. appt that could not be changed, so she stayed with them until the MS crew arrived! She said it was so sweet watching their faces when they pulled up! I hate I missed it!
Jackson was in LOVE with Elizabeth aka "Lily" ~ He called her Lily Pad! :) She was so sweet to him and most of the time, the 2 of them were doing their own thing! He wanted to sleep in her twin bunk with her! ;) We did move him to his pallet after he went to sleep so Lily could have some room!

Friday was spent in the pool ~ ALL DAY ~ and it was wonderful! We played Marco Polo, sharks and minnows, raced, and enjoyed catching up!
What pool day would be complete without a little watermelon? Elizabeth and Emily taking a break from swimming for a bit to eat!

Saturday, we sent Zachary to the farm with Dalton and the girls and poor Jackson went to Augusta to shop. Mary Dalton got to dress herself ~ LOVELY! ;) She said it was the best shopping day she ever had bc she got to try on everything she wanted and look without being rushed....yes, I am VERY guilty of rushing her at claire's...that stores makes me have panic attacks, but Nana and Aunt Tasha were VERY patient and let her look! And, JD was actually good bc lily kept him entertained! Thanks Girl! :)

Saturday night, Big Daddy took us all out to eat at Coleman's ~ I spent most of the night int eh car with MD ~ she got carsick on the way and was not feeling well at all. After about 30 mins (plus some Pepto) of cool air and just sitting still, she was feeling better and we were able to go back in and finish eating....not exactly how I had envisioned the night.....but after 6 years of motherhood, I should know not to "envision" anything! ha! Aunt Tasha let MD "dig" all through her purse and this was the highlight of her night....ahh...the simple things!

Dalton, Zachary and Jackson hanging out before we went to eat ~ Notice JD's cell phone holder he wore! He even rigged a pipe cleaner through it to help it stay closed! ;)

Sunday, we had a *surprise* bday party for MD that she planned! Mama and Tasha brought their gifts early since they could not be here for her real bday. And o f course, they bought JD some too! We had party games ~ this was drop the hot stick into the tumbler....oh yeah....we are creative! ha!

We even had a cake and sang Happy Birthday!
Tasha gave her the CUTEST cup for school ~ Thanks Aunt Tash! :)

Nana bought JD a hot wheels toy he has wanted since Christmas, but Santa was too cheap to buy it! He has played with this for HOURS!!!!

She also got this precious tutu/pettiskirt from Nana ~ She can't wait to wear this to school on "Mary dalton day!"

And then, last night, we had a family talent show....oh how I wish I could share the pics, but I can't....let's just say I have MAJOR blackmail material and videoes on both my mother and sister and they better not mess with me! ha! ;) Here are the FEW I can share ~ Sweet JD dressed as Nemo and sang.....could eat him up! ;)
And you guessed it....MD was Taylor Swift! She was so excited bc the big girls did her hair and make up!

We took a night swim, Dalton grilled us burgers and then MD talked them into playing school! Here she is leading them in the pledge.

And that brings us to today ~ uh.
Everyone is sad and in the dumps and I am doing MAJOR laundry and trying to get things picked up. I have this week and next week and then my summer is OVER! :( We are thinking about posiibly going to the coast for one last "Hoo-Rah!" but haven't made up our minds. Not too much planned this week other than trying to get everyone on somewhat of a bedtime routine, laundry (oh, did i mention that already?), and getting ready to go back to school!
Thanks so much for coming to see us Nana and Tasha (and kids too!) Can't wait till we are all together again!!!!!
