Today, I took the Key Club to volunteer at the food pantry. It was an eye opening experince to say the least. I think that the students did not have a clue as to how many people in our area are in need of food. They were even more surprised that the workers there (5 out of 7) were working in order to get food for their families. The boys went and picked up donated turkeys ~ about 100 of them ~ and the girls helped organize food, bag food for people, and bag sausage. It was a very humbling experience, one every teen should take part in for sure.
With that being said, today I am thankful for food. I am thankful that I can make out a list and go buy what I need. I am thankful that I can choose what I want to eat each day. I am thankful that when my children say that they are hungry, they know that the pantry is full.

Matt dropped off our cans just before your crew got started. He said he wished the kiddos could have gone. He told them about how many people were in line to get food. He mentioned a man on the porch said "God bless you!" This is really a project more of our kids should do.
Amber -
I can't tell you how much reading your blog every day (sometimes more than that - especially if you're telling a story about Jackson or MDD - you keep my family in stitches!)has meant to me. You are so real. I have not yet written down all I am thankful for, but just wanted you to know how thankful I am for you, your love for the Lord, your love for your family and friends and your spunk. You are quite a gal.
Love,
Debbie
