What a Reader, Silly Sunny, Grouchy Boy!

This is how I have found Mary Dalton over & over lately ~
READING! She has been reading well for quite awhile now, but she has just started silently reading chapter books! She REALLY wanted to "read in her brain" and I let her try it and she made a 100 on her AR book which was a level 2.7! She must be comprehending something! ;)
I am SO excited she loves to read! It's like she has opened up a whole new world all to herself!
Jackson is doing well with his reading too ~ but still would rather PLAY! That's one thing I love about my boy ~ His motto, "Life is a party...all the time!" :) He was supposed to be going over his sight words, I found him in my closet...not sure what he was doing, but he was having a blast!
Last night, after I out the kids to bed, I RACED downstairs to watch The Bacheolor. I was just backing up the TiVo and heard Mary Dalton SCREAM and she was standing at the top of the stairs. She said she heard something scratching on her window and knocking on it. I told her I had just started the washer and drier, assured her that since her room was on the 2nd story, NOTHING can tap on her window. I tucked her back in bed and cut on an extra nightlight. As I walking out, I heard it. Now, we have caught a flying squirel and his friend has been back ~ so I thought it might be him...I went and told DDD to go outside and check....This is what we found....

The stupid cat was on the roof and was SCRATCHING on MD's window and actually managed to pull her screen off. GREAT!
I put her in bed with Jackson...glad he was asleep or he would have NOT been a happy camper!

This is how I found them this morning, THIS made my heart smile!
What sweet, sweet blessings!

Blessings that DO NOT like to get up! HOLY SMOKE he is one grouch in the morning!

And MD is the TOTAL opposite, she always wakes up with a smile and gets dressed so easily!

I am blessed to teach at a small school where I can see my children during the day! I LOVE seeing them in the hall or lunchroom ~ or having them show up to let me see a special art project Yesterday, when I got back from lunch, I found this note on my desk!

"I made 100 MD"
Thank goodness she is reading like a pro, because her little handwriting leaves much to be desired!
We are moving right along getting back in the groove ~ hard to believe tomorrow is Wednesday!
The weekend will be here before we know it!
