Ahhh..that's better!

I had to change fonts AGAIN! I must be getting old, I was having trouble seeing my posts! ;) I must admit that I am lost without my camera! :( The weather here is rainy and cold and I came right home from work and put on my warm pj's and wool socks...I am SO ready for warm weather to come and STAY! Mary Dalton got her cap and gown today for her K5 graduation, she is so excited but I know she will miss Miss Sharon next year! She even got a class ring ~ it was a whole $4 but it made her day! The Bookfair is at our school and today was kids' preview day ~ my two LOVE a book and were so excited to get to take a look around. On a TOTALLY different note ~ this morning while I was getting dressed, the Today Show had a segment on Abercrombie Kids having a padded PUSH UP string bikini for a 7 year old...7 year old...as in 1,2,3,4,5,6, SEVEN year old! REALY?!? What in the world are they gonna push up? I do not have a problem with a bikini ~ MDD had her 1st one when she was 6 months old and it was PRECIOUS, however, the padding is a but much. I recently went to buy Mary D. some denim shorts ~ you would think that this would be easy, simple denim shorts to wear to school. I was in TOTAL shock at the length of the shorts being sold at Target, as well as Old Navy, GAP, and Children's Place ~ WAY too short for my long legged girl! I finally found some that we were able to unroll that were age appropiate. My kids have underwear that cover more than those shorts did. Mary Dalton is very tall for her age, but she is still 6 1/2 and will dress like a little girl until she is no longer a little girl. The Today show's view point was that society is making little girls grow up too fast ~ Nope...that would be their MOTHERS who buy that trashy stuff and then put it on their girls. It kills me when a parent says, "I can't do a thing with what he/she is wearing!" HELLO ~ who buys their clothes??? Once again, I feel that we as a society/culture are trying to point fingers at stores, marketing ploys, etc. instead of saying NO to our children and that's that. OK ~ I will get off that soapbox for today ~ Dalton is gearing up for his FAVORITE hunt of the year and we are counting down the days til spring break ~ 3 school days, 1 field day ~ only 35 left this year...but who's counting???

Amen to that! That's why my girls have so many handmade clothes! Ali is actually the tiniest in her class but she still has long legs, so buying shorts for her is a nightmare. She knows we don't do "hoochie" around here though so she doesn't even ask!
Oh and I am counting down the days as well!

You are so right, Amber. These clothes and these moms are crazy. A seven year old needs to look cute, not like a hooker. I love the new pic for the blog. They look like models. Your posts on your family always lift my spirits and make me laugh. I feel like we're still connected. Have a great week and a fabulous spring break week.
