It was SO nice to be at HOME this weekend! We have not been to church since Mother's Day! Every weekend we have been gone ~ and the one weekend we were here, I was sick!
Today was a BIG day for us! This was the 1st Sunday EVER that Mary Dalton & Jackson were not in the same class/nursery!!! She was SO excited that she was moving into the "Children's Department" and out of the "little kid class with people who can't write their own names or read." (the class has 3 yr olds to K5 ~ bug age differences!)
She is the ONLY person at our church going into 1st grade, so she moved up all alone! Her old teachers were so sweet and gave her a book and THREE barbie dolls as a going to the big kid class present! They are so sweet! Her new teacher is PRECIOUS! She is an older lady ~ maybe late 60's and I know that Mary Dalton will love her! She is in a class for 1st and 2nd grade girls...she really was excited no boys were in her new class! :)

SHOCKER!!! But we were EARLY this morning so I took a few pics of everyone ~ LOVE that they are dressed alike! These days are quickly, quickly ending, so when they do dress "matchy" I take LOTS of pics!!! :)
Mary Dalton can no longer go to children's church ~ she did pretty well staying in "big church" ~ Jackson sat with mike & gigi and REFUSED to go to children's church.....and of course they did not make him! We went and ate lunch with Mike, Gigi & Nick after church, but missed Sallie Ann! Dalton & I agree that the ONE thing we miss about our old house (other than the cheaper house note!) is them! They were the BEST neighbors and are such dear friends!!!
We went and picked corn this weekend, too! My children LOVE to be outside and also love to do anything with plants/gardens. A friend of ours had a corn field and let us pick as much as wanted! I must say, corn is a lot like a Christmas tree...when you pick out a tree, you always think it's not big enough...and when you get it in your house...it's HUGE! Well, when you are picking corn, you don't think you have enough, but when you start to shuck it, you realize you are in WAY over your head!!!! Mary Dalton calls it "hashing" the corn! They both were really good helpers! :)
Mr. "I want to pick 100 ears of corn and clean it ALL by myself" quickly dropped that idea when he found a corn worm ~ at one point, he had about 25 of them! He had a BALL! Those poor worms!!!
Mary Dalton has learned to play "MASH" ~ you know that game you played in the 80's where you list 4 boys, 4 jobs, 4 pets, 4 cars, etc. and then you draw a circle thingy and then count to that number over and over and over to see what your life will be like one day??? She was doing Jackson's future ~ the conversation here was PRICELESS! For his wedding colors, he picked 1. brown 2. green 3. orange 4. camo!!! I was one of his choices for a wife though! ;)
I worked and worked and worked (Dalton did help a LOT) and we put up 100 ears of corn PLUS we creamed all of this! If you have never creamed your own corn let me warn you ~ it's time consuming and MESSY but SOOOOOO good!!! Dalton's grandmother taught me how to put it up ~ she adds butter, milk, sugar and salt ~ cooks it on 350 until its heated, but not too hot...cool to room temperature. Bag and freeze!!!
