Memorial Day Fun at the Coast ~

Dalton and I were without kids ALL last week ~ it worked out great because I was super busy with winding up the school year...and I got EVERYTHING done and don't have to go back until late July!
We left Saturday morning to head to the coast to pick the kids up ~ we loaded up the "third child" ~
We took our time getting down there because the kids were at the beach ~ We stopped and tried a new BBQ place that was featured in Garden & Gun ~ it was really good...but not Southern Soul good! ;)
There was just a window ~ no seating but there was a park a covered area so we had a nice little picnic all by ourselves! :)
I love this man of mine ~
When we got the coast we had this "check in" sheet left on our bed by Mary Dalton ~ she played hotel all week! :)
Saturday morning I heard little feet on the hardwoord floors and got this cutie in our bed for some snuggling, milk and Pepa the Pig ~ it's been a LONG time since we had a little baby in our bed on Saturday morning!
We left about 10 to head to St Simons Island for lunch ~ Southern Soul BBQ of course ~
I think Dalton  missed his girl ~
After lunch, we went to Small Cakes...we were speaking his love language~
CUPCAKES! duh...
We even got Rebel a "pup cake" to enjoy! He ate it so fast! He loved it!
We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out in the backyard ~ the weather was cool and breezy ~
we ate lots of watermelon and enjoyed the day!
Sunday morning ~ Dalton cooked us a gourmet breakfast ~ seriously...it was incredible! We then were talked into playing The Game of Life ~ and this was the only time in my life that I made more money than Dalton ~ ha! Private school teaching salary is LESS than glamorous! ;)
We were back home by 3 ~ we got unpacked and settled back in! We have spent today cleaning out the garage, working on our yellow pool (again!), and giving everything a good cleaning/organizing so we can enjoy our summer! :)
This is the first week of summer and we have plans for the next 3 weeks with camps ~
I am taking full advantage of a quiet week before the "going" starts again!
