So Long February ~ Hello March!!!

It is hard to believe SPRING is just around the corner! February FLEW by!!!
We started the month with Dalton's birthday and then Casino night, which was hosted by The Chamber of Commerce. I am on the board for the chamber, so I had to help get this event together.
As much as I was dreading it, we had a good time! :) We had a Superbowl theme, hence the referee shirts! ;)

I did have a "free" hour and was able to "gamble" some! I LOVED playing roulette! SO much fun! We have a cruise coming up this summer and I have already told Big D that we are playing AT LEAST one night!

Every year, my children find themselves one of my senior students that they fall in love with. This year, it's Jake Smith. I love his sisters, too, but Jake and Jackson are good friends (as crazy as that sounds!). They go fishing and trapping after school, he takes him to eat, takes him to his house, etc. Mary Dalton ADORES him. He caught wind that she needed a house model for her English class and proceeded to make this one for her ~ see....he's a keeper! ;)
Seriously...they are already talking about how sad they are going to be when Jake, Livi and Graci-Rae are gone!
One of my favorite parts of my job is when my kids stop by to see me during the day! :)
They don't always care to see me though ~
Jackson had two weeks cleaning for putting someone's pencil in a water bottle.
Seriously.
How can you even be mad for that?!?! And he's so cute cleaning!
Towards the end of the month he finished up his trapping season. He has REALLY taken to trapping! I am so proud of his determination and hard work! He has pulled up all his traps and will start again next fall when the season comes in. Two coons on the last night was a great ending to his season!
Mary Dalton also had dance competition last month. She went up a day earlier to spend the night at Georgia Southern with Anna Grace ~ another former student she loves! Anna sent me this snapchat ~ Look close and you can see Olivia, Anna's dog, in bed by MD!
This was Mary Dalton's last dance competition....which I am relieved, yet sad. We have had some FUN times going to competitions, but she is wanting to do other things next year. The group has one more competition, but we opted out since we have a wedding to attend the same day.
She was starting to get sick while we there and ended up with an awful fever/cold/virus for the next 7-10 days! Even though she felt bad ~ she was beautiful on stage and tapped her little heart out!!! I was so proud of her! :)
In the craziness of the month we also found time to sneak out to Augusta with the girls! I ADORE these ladies and a night out was just what we needed!
On Valentine's Day ~ we enjoyed romantic music and a fire in the science lab! ha! Jackson and Maggie stopped by and I had a photo op! ;)
Along with Jackson's trapping, he is running an IG page. The little joker has even secured SPONSORS!!! They send him free stuff!!! Anyway ~ he has a pretty good following and I am always impressed at how creative/artistic his pictures are!

I am also in charge of a Leadership Youth class for our county. Last week, Dalton came and spoke to our group about county law and his job as solicitor. He did so good...and I always love to see him during the day!
I have called on Big D a lot lately ~ My class had a mock trial last week and he took the morning off and came and served as our judge!
With all the craziness of the month, we needed a night away ~ we found a sitter and went to Savannah just for one night. It was BEYOND nice to have time with just him and to unwind! I love this man more than he will ever know and I treasure our time together!
He was even a good sport and let me order a VERY exotic cheese board! Which was almost too exotic to eat!
February kept us busy for sure and March is already going full swing! The kids start track next week and turkey season is just around the bend! Our favorite time of year for everyone!
