Well another spring break is in the books! We were busy but had some downtime to so that made for a great 10 days off of work!
For the second half of the week this was my view for most of the time… Definitely not too shabby! Jackson and I fished and rode the golf cart! The weather was beautiful.
Mary Dalton went to the beach with her friend Lexi. They were gone for five nights and I missed her so much! She talks nonstop so when she is not around it’s very very quiet!!!
She had a blast! Lexi has an older brother so they wanted up with a big crew at their Beachhouse. They had so much fun and made so many memories! However, I was definitely glad to pick her up today and bring her home. She has filled us in on all the fun things that they did and is absolutely exhausted! I have a feeling she will be asleep in no time!
While we were at the cabin Friday night we lost power. We were almost ready to eat so we gathered up the candles and made do. When we went to leave we realize that a drunk driver had hit a power pole and knocked out power for everyone on that line. Stuff like that scares me to death… No matter how careful we are there’s always some idiot out there.
Saturday was a big day for Jackson! He got asked a few months ago to go to the eighth grade dance at David Emmanuel Academy with hot friend, Ann Carol. He looks so handsome… But so old.
Ughhhh he grew up fast!!! I swear ever since he has gotten his braces off he looks so much older. When we went to pick up his tux he had grown 2 inches so we had to get new pants! He’s growing superfast!
We grabbed a few pictures in the yard before we headed to Swainsboro. The eighth grade parents hosted the dance and they used the prom decorations from the night before. It was extremely nice! They had dinner at the Coleman house and had someone there taking professional pictures.
From there they went to the dance and had a great time! Ann carol’s mother sent me the sweetest text saying what a gentleman Jackson was and how polite he was… Talk about making a mama’s heart happy! She also said that he danced from the very first song to the very last… Which made my heart even happier! I don’t want my children to ever sit on the sidelines and watch… Get up and get involved! Have fun! Don’t take yourself too serious!
His date was absolutely beautiful and she was just a sweetheart! They had a great time together.
He also saw his friend Bree that used to go to TJ. I know a lot of people there and made a lot of new friends too! The end of the night by giving them all the cutest gift bags with a custom cup, a T-shirt candy and a deck of playing cards. These parents went all out for these kids! It was just awesome!!! Our school is doing something similar this weekend but on a much smaller scale. I hope he has just as much fun then!!!
While Jackson was at the dance Dalton and I went back to the cabin and I went with him to roost a turkey. We’ve been together 20 years and this was my first time together… And I loved! We found out that my ears are much better than his... And I have a feeling he’s going to asked me to go again. I love doing things with him, he’s so much fun!
And right before we start back to school tomorrow… I have all the feels. We only have five weeks left and I will have a highschooler and the ninth grader. I feel like the end is really in sight...And I absolutely love watching them grow up. They are so much fun right now… The funnest they’ve ever been! Dalton and I love hanging out with them...And then this little beauty pops up on my Timehop…
And it reminds me how quickly 8 years passes. So even if 6 AM doesn’t sound appealing, I’m going to savor the time I have left in the school year because I know my days with them will be over way too soon.
