Summer 22 is finally here and we are so excited! This is how we wrapped up the school year…
Susan and I went out for dinner and had the best time catching up. She has been out of town for several weeks so it was great to see her!
I wish I could see my sweet mama more often but the hospital where she works posted this picture and it made my day… She is just the cutest little thing!
Our school had baccalaureate a few weeks ago and we went to see some of our favorite seniors.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go frog gigging… Jackson and Beans took me one night before school got out. We killed a snake and three frogs. The weather was not great and the moon wasn’t right but we had a great time. We are going to go back later on this summer!
We went to K5 graduation. Kylie Ray has been the sweetest little buddy for Mary Dalton. She is changing schools next year and we are going to miss her!
Some of the sophomores came and helped serve refreshments and pass out programs. I’m so thankful for kids who will volunteer and help make things happen!
Dalton had our pond shot and we had over 50 bass that he had to clean. We had an impromptu fish fry with two families. It was super last minute but we had a blast!
Cameron came over and we gave him his graduation gift. His favorite movie is outlaw Josey Wales. Dalton got him a pistol similar to the one in the movie. He was so excited!
This was Mary Dalton‘s third summer for teaching swimming lessons. She had the best kids this year! I don’t think any of them were terrible for her and they all learned so much. We fell in love with this little cutie! She is only two but had the best manners!
And just like that, big Peavy graduates from high school. We were so happy for him and he is thrilled to be done!
Are seniors get roses to give to people who were influential over their life. Most kids give theirs to their mother and to their two grandmothers. He gave me one of his. It was so very sweet.
It turned out to be a great night with lots of sweet friends!
I have taught for 19 years, and this was the hardest year I’ve ever had. The kids were fine, and administration was not an issue… It was just a hard year. I don’t know any teacher that had an awesome school year. We started off the year with kids on quarantine and having to teach in person and virtually… It just got to be so much and it was really hard. I am so thankful for a much needed break and I know next year will be better! I plan to enjoy every second of summer in the meantime!
