Sunny

When Mary Dalton was 4, she prayed every night for months that God would give her a kitten and a baby sister. One random day she walked inside holding a little white kitten and was so happy and declared, “God answered my prayers and sent me a kitten!” Now as much as I dislike cats, there was no way I was telling my sweet 4 year old that we were not keeping this kitten. Dalton had said absolutely no cats, but when I called him he said, “Well… I guess I’ll stop and get cat food.” That’s how we got Sunny…and avoided a sister. 😉 She followed the kids around everywhere. She let MD dress her up. She loved to sit in the windowsill and look in the kitchen window. She greeted me every morning as soon as she heard the alarm from the door beep. She tried every single day for the past 13 years to come inside…she just knew she was a house cat. 

I know she was just a cat…and one I initially didn’t want, but my heart is sad she’s no longer here. We have tons of funny stories and memories about this very much prayed for kitten that we all grew to love so much. I’m thankful God answered MD’s prayer 13 years ago and He sent us Sunny. ❤️
