Weekend with Nana & Pawpaw ~

This past weekend, my parents came up for Mary Dalton's graduation! Of course they come with gifts! My Daddy made Jackson a stoneblade knife wtih a case...he *thought* it would be displayed in his room, but instead he holds it and dreams about what he can "cut open" with it! ha!

He is beyond proud of his knife his Pawpaw made!

Mary Dalton wrote Pawpaw a letter asking him for a Barbie house ~ and let me say that she has played and played with it! I LOVE to listen to her play Barbies...she makes them talk like a book "You push the car Taylor!" exclaimed Sarah...Taylor thought to herself, "Doesn't she know I am famous?" ha!!! LOVE her imagination!

The best part of the Barbie house was that the kids got to help "wall paper" the walls!

We went to pick strawberries and we had to WORK to find a bucket full ~ the crop is almost gone ~ but they were soooo yummy! We made homemade strawberry ice cream, too! super yummy!

The kids dressed themselves ~ part of summer fun ~ they can wear whatever they want...Mary Dalton had a good choice ~ we gotta work on Jackson's matching skills! ha!

MDD got creative and was using her dress as a basket ~ I told her she would have been a great Indian! ;)

Our church had a summer kick off party! I am on the children's committee and we planned an ice cream social and rented the double lane slip-n-slide!

Mary Dalton loved it until the boys showed up. There are NO girls hardly at our church and the boys were wide open...she was over that...quickly!

Jackson had fun and slid about twice and he had a great time until ~He slipped and hit his head! OUCH!!! I usually don't get excited about injuries ~ but I saw this one and he hit HARD!!! I can't believe it did not bust his head. He skinned his legs, arm, and belly ~ it was awful! My mama was there with us, so she took him home to get him all cleaned up and gave him some tylenol ~ his head is still blue and that was 6 days ago!

We went fishing in a friend's spillway ~ my kind of fishing...as soon as you put the pole in you got a fish! I had to be a big girl and not only bait hooks but get the fish off ~ we were catching them too fast for anyone to help me! I survived though! ;)

Mary D. was trying to enjoy it and she caught a fish, but she is scared to DEATH of the crickets and of the fish, so this was not really her thing! She hung in there though! :)

I LOVE this picture! Jackson wanted to sit by my Daddy to fish use HIS bait! He fished for over an hour and never got a bite with the bait he chose, but he was thrilled to no end to be by his pawpaw using his bait! :)

We had a super time with them here! It's always sad when they leave, but the kids and I are headed out there in a few weeks and we can't wait!!!
