2017 Year End Review

Each year, I enjoy doing a year end highlight post! 2017 has really been a great year for our family. God has blessed us in so many ways and we are so thankful! The end of the year always makes me a little sad, especially if it was a good year, because we don't know what the next year holds. We didn't suffer any great loss in 2017. Our health was good and 2017. Dalton and I both had great years professionally in 2017. We did some fun trips with our kids. It was just a good year.

Our years with our kids being home with us are getting shorter and shorter...I have FIVE summers left with Mary Dalton and six with Jackson. Time is surely flying by!!

And now....we are starting a new year. We don't know what this year holds health wise, professionally, financially, or personally. Lots of unknowns.
But I do know is God has been in control and will continue to be in control....and in that I find peace and comfort.
No resolutions from me. Not a one. I just want to enjoy each day and live it to its fullest!

Here's a look back over our busy year!

JANUARY
We spent the month recovering from the holidays and getting used to our new puppy, Bo! Jackson was asked to read for our community theaters play… And he landed the role of Tom Sawyer! Mary Dalton also got her first kill with a gun! We also celebrated Jackson's 11th birthday!

FEBRUARY
We celebrated Dalton's 41st birthday, spent time with friends, had an awesome trip to Charleston and enjoyed our cabin as much as we possibly could!

MARCH
March was a busy month for sure! Jackson's play started and ran for two weeks and he was awesome as the lead role and Tom Sawyer! Mary Dalton started running middle school track and also competed and dance competitions. We practice dirt road driving and loved on our sweet dogs as much as we good! I was also named star teacher!

APRIL
We welcome to the warm weather by fishing and spending our day at the farm. Razz came and stayed with us a few days! We celebrated Easter! And also enjoyed a super fun trip to Savannah!!!
APRIL/MAY
So much went on in late April and May… It deserved its own category!!! This is always the busiest time of year for us! Jackson got braces, Mary Dalton learn to shoot the AR 15, she competed in another dance competition, she was the first runner up and our schools beauty pageant, and both of our children racked up on honors day!!! Proud mama!!
MAY
The end of May was field with end of school parties and opening up our pool... we graciously welcomed summer!

JUNE
Summer started with lots of time in the pool… Our all-time favorite! Jackson finished most every day, Dalton and I went to see Hank Williams Junior in concert. We went to Saint Simons and enjoyed our favorite barbecue restaurant, and both of the kids went to 4H camp this year! Jackson also got an Eno which she still loves and convince Mary Dalton to buy one! Mary Dalton also went and spent a week at the beach with one of her best friends, Maggie.

JULY
In  July, we made a trip to Atlanta to visit the Palmer's, spent a long weekend at Jekyll Island, Dalton and Jackson went to their annual hunting show in Birmingham, Mary Dalton started softball, and we went to a Miss Teen USA party to cheer on a student that was competing! We squeezed in pool time and a movie or two!

MORE SUMMER
We made our annual trip to Mississippi and took Whitney Sue with us this year! Elizabeth came as well and we enjoyed spending the week in my home state! It was my grandmothers church is homecoming and we were able to be there for that, so that was a special occasion!
AUGUST
After that nice relaxing summer, August came in with a bang! Both of the children were starting middle school! How can that even be!?! Jackson was in football Mary Dalton was playing softball, and we had a big birthday to celebrate! Our girl turned 13! We had a huge party and. Celebrated her big time! It was a fun month but busy!!!

SEPTEMBER
In September, we survived hurricane Irma with no power for five days! The children enjoy dressing up for homecoming week, baby Chance came for a visit, we enjoyed the cooler temps and freshly boiled peanuts! Jackson also I really got into trapping around this time. It was also this month we found out that he had broken his leg… and never got it treated! He was out of football for the season!

OCTOBER
Deer season came in, The fair was in town, football ended and so did  softball! We enjoyed cool weather and all things fall!!!

NOVEMBER
and then came November… We were swamped! Mary Dalton and I went to Mississippi for annual girls trip to attend mistletoe marketplace. Jackson continued his trapping, and got a deer while hunting with me! This is a miracle within itself! Dalton was voted best attorney and I was voted best high school teacher about our county! We took the kids and their friends to the Columbia County fair. Jackson completed a project for Day of the dead. We enjoyed  catching up with our sweet razz, and my crew hunted every chance they got! The highlight of the month was our trip to the Biltmore house!!

DECEMBER
December brought all things Christmas, cold weather, Christmas baking, parades, parties, and family! We celebrated the birth of Jesus and enjoyed our time with family!

It's been a great year and we are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us in 2018!
