Two week ago, Mary Dalton competed in our region literary competition doing the argumentative essay. She prepared for weeks...writing and rewriting and was excited when the day arrived!

CT and Blake were in the quartet and Whitney was an alternate...they sure did look cute!!!
They asked Jackson to go to watch several events so he would be prepared when competing next year. He actually ended up helping some, too!

MD was given three topics to pick from...she went with one about gaming. Should video games be considered an exercise? She said no and had great points to back up her writing. She is a REALLY good writer...so good that I have looked to be sure her work/ideas are not plagiarized.
She felt really good about her essay, but knew she was competing against seniors who had experience.
MD was SUPER excited to see Graci Rae while she was at the college!

My baby girl FRESHMEN blew the others out of the water with her essay!!! She was ahead by over 35 points!!! I was SO proud of her!!!!
Pictured above is her English teacher, who was a college professor. MD has worked her butt off in this class. She has cried, emailed, rewrote, restarted, etc. but she has KEPT WITH IT and is better for it!!!! She was supposed to be competing in the state competition today, but of course bc of the Corona Virus it was canceled. Regardless, we are so pleased with her hard work and winning REGION!!!!
