Road Trip Part 1

We just got back from a way overdue family vacation! We could not decide between Key West and a trip to big Cedar Lodge in Missouri, but we ultimately let the kids pick! So we packed up and headed to Missouri! It was about 13 hours! Thankfully Dalton had looked at a map and found a great way to break our trip up both going and coming so the kids could see some new things! I even packed prizes like I used to when they were little… They got a prize every hour! They were just as excited about these processes that used to be when they were little!

Definitely the prize of the day was the stretchy gator! Oh my word did they love these things! They kept up with them all week and their stretchy gators are now in their bedrooms! Who knew that a dollar prize would go over so well with a teenager!?!

Somehow, Mary Dalton convinced her daddy to stop at every state sign so she could make a TickTock… Here we are on stop number one. I hope she knows how lucky she is to have a daddy who is so much fun!

We traveled on Sunday, which was also Father’s Day, the traffic was not bad at all and we made it to Oxford around 3! We stayed at The Graduate which we all loved! The kids had their own room down the hall from us so it was nice to have some room and spread out! We took a quick refresher and then headed out to go rack up on some Ole Miss gear!!

this man is so much fun… I would also like to add I think this is the first vacation where nobody got into a fight and nobody cried. We’ve come along way… But actually the kids did get in a fight this night and Jackson thought broke his arm… But he left and was fine! 😉 I don’t count the fight because I didn’t witness it therefore my mind it didn’t exist!

After buying After buying LOTS at Rebel Rags, the kids walked around the square. There was not much open and they had the mask law in effect. Dalton and I went up to the rooftop bar. The kids met us up there and we ate supper together. The view was absolutely beautiful!

I love taking them to see new things! We only have three more summers of vacations with them! Crazy to think about!

After we had dinner we went and walked around the Square and got ice cream.

we were all super tired after a long day of traveling so we were all in our rooms by nine! Mary Dalton fell even more in love with Ole Miss and the campus. We plan to go back this fall and do an official visit.
Day one was a fun one for sure!!!
